PNC Park Water Safety Night
May 14th at
The Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Game:
During National Water
Safety Week, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is partnering
with the Pittsburgh Pirates to hold a Water Safety Night,
Thursday, May 14, 2009, prior to and during the Bucs vs. St.
Louis Cardinals game at PNC Park. As part of
the May 14th event, the Pirates and the Corps are offering
free exhibit space from 4 pm to 7:05 game time along Federal
Street for those interested in the opportunity to highlight
their role in supporting the safe use of our waterways and
lakes. There is nearly 200 linear feet along Federal Street
available to showcase watercraft, recreation displays, safe
boating exhibits, etc. The USCG, USCG Auxiliary,
Three Rivers Rowing Association, Pittsburgh / New Castle Power
Squadron and other have committed. The Corps is also
exploring the possibility of docking vessels/boats along the
PNC river wall. We invite you to join us for this
event as part of the National Safe Boating Week activities.
It's free to participate! Wear your Power Squadrons shirt or
jacket to identify yourselves and help us pass out flyers
about the Power Squadrons activities and civic duties.
Please forward this to other Power Squadron Members or
individuals who may share our interest in promoting boating
and water safety or a general interest in highlighting our
region's waterways and lakes. Please inform me of
your interest so that we may include you. Set-up will be
3:00pm and the event starts at 4:00 pm. Tickets for
the game are available at a discount. Contact the Pirates Box
Office.
